Obituary for Ruthie Louise Britnell Roberts (Jarrett)

Mrs. Ruthie Louise (Jarrett) Britnell Roberts, 96, of Harrisburg departed this life Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at her home in Harrisburg. She was born December 15, 1922 in Union City, Mississippi the daughter of Charles Kefton and Melissa Eveline (Brownlee) Jarrett. Ruthie was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands: Mr. James Loyd Britnell and Mr. John E. Roberts, two brothers: Junior and Ocie Jarrett, three sisters: Lillian Niles, Mary Lou Conley, and Marie Hester. She was a homemaker, active member of the Assembly of God Church in Harrisburg for seventy-two years. Ruthie was a charter member and active for 30 years in Harrisburg Home Extension Club, she enjoyed having an active part in the Harrisburg Senior Citizen Center, and spending time with family and friends. She enjoyed sewing, flowers, and crocheting. She is survived by three sons: James Edward (Shirley) Britnell of Trumann, John David Britnell of Harrisburg, and Donald (Rhonda) Britnell of Highland, Arkansas, three daughters: Evelyn (James) Williams of Harrisburg, Ruby (Billy) Meacham of Collierville, Tennessee, and Freda (Roger) Brown also of Harrisburg, 9 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and 11 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services are 2:00 Friday, April 26, 2019 at Jackson’s Funeral Home Chapel with visitation Thursday, April 25, 2019 from 6:00~8:00. Bro. Eddie Passmore and Bro. Tim Hale will conduct the service. Grandsons and Grand-sons-in-law will serve as pallbearers. Interment will be in Farm Hill Cemetery. Arrangements are by Jackson’s Funeral Home.
