Mrs. Beatrice (Atkinson) Cook of Newport, Arkansas, departed this life on Sunday, November 25, 2018, at the age of 75. She was born March 9, 1943 in Newport, the daughter of John Linton and Aretta Elizabeth (Houchin) Atkinson.
Mrs. Cook had spent many years working at the Shoe Factory, and American Greetings. She enjoyed working word puzzles, and being outdoors fishing and taking care of her yard. Her greatest love was time spent with her family, especially her husband and grandchildren.
Mrs. Cook was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Wilburn Mansfield, William Atkinson, and Albert Mansfield; and two sisters, Margie Welch, and Blanche Henderson.
She is survived by her husband, Ronald Cook of the home; three children, Caleb Cook and wife, Holly, of Evening Shade, Chelisa Cook of Sulphur Rock, and Joleta Cook of Saffell; one brother, Jimmie Mansfield of Floral; two sisters, Linda Atkinson of Pennington, and Shelia Loftin and husband, Elton, of Newport; her grandchildren, Kristen George, Brianna Goerge, Dalton George, Tyler Pockrus, Eastin Cook, Weston Cook, Dakota Cook, Autumn Cook, Julian Jones, Carey King, Kailee Hutchison, Evelyn Hutchison, James, Joseph, and Destiny; one great-grandchild, Jacelyn Jones; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit at Jackson’s Newport Funeral Home Chapel, Wednesday beginning at 1:00 p.m. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be at Sandhill Cemetery.
