Obituary for Ernest Hodges Jr.

Ernest  Hodges Jr.
Mr. Ernest Hodges, Jr., of Newark, Arkansas, departed this life on Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at the age of 82. He was born February 3, 1936 in Independence County, the son of Ernest Bly and Verniss (Carpenter) Hodges.
Mr. Hodges retired from Victor Metal, then later retired from GDX. He was a member of the Newark Church of Christ.
Mr. Hodges enjoyed fishing and gardening. He was a loving father, grandfather, and husband. A big guy with big love, he loved his family and friends dearly.
Mr. Hodges was preceded in death by one grandson, Kristofer Coleman; four brothers, Edward, Gene, Bill, and Kenny Hodges; and his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Wilda Louise (Sullins) Hodges of the home; one son, Michael Ernest Hodges and wife, Rita, of Newark; two daughters, Debbie Dicus and husband, Butch, of Newark, and Kathy Carey and husband, Tim, of Paragould; one sister, Ann Ward of Jonesboro; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a lifetime of friends.
Friends may visit at Newark Church of Christ, Friday beginning at 10:00 a.m. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be in Blue Springs Cemetery.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Landon Hodges, Brandon Hodges, Butch Dicus, Tim Carey, A.J. Coleman, Matthew Carey, Steven Scudder, and Adam Fudge.
