.Elvia Vaudine “Dean” (Meyer) Wallace, 79, of Jonesboro, formerly of Wynne departed this life Monday, March 12, 2018 at the Flo & Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro surrounded by her family. She was born November 27, 1938 in Harrisburg, Arkansas to Pete and Katie (Huffine) Meyer. She married M.A.
Wallace and they enjoyed 58 years together before his passing on October 24, 2015. Dean worked in the family business for many years until her retirement. She loved listening to country music, dancing, and just having a good time and enjoying life. She was very quick witted and always had her family and friends laughing. She loved spending time at the cabin with M.A. and enjoyed watching the deer and hummingbirds. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers: Otis Meyer and Lester Meyer, and one sister, Dorothy Vest. Dean is survived by one son, Stanley Wallace of Fair Oaks, two daughters, Rhonda (Kevin) Miller of Jonesboro and Lisa Garner of Pocahontas, one sister, Betty Braddock of Texas, seven grandchildren: Ben Wallace, Jennifer Garner, Mallory Maddox Smith, Jessica Wallace Smith, Jordan Garner Raby, Madison Maddox Daffron, and Montgomery Miller, and six great-grandchildren: Dayton Smith, Brady Smith, Weston Smith, Maddox Daffron, Smith Wallace, and Beckett Smith. She is also survived by one very special and loved caregiver, Carol Fleetwood. Honored to serve as active pallbearers are Ben Wallace, Montgomery Miller, Aaron Smith, Jacob Daffron, David Smith, and Nathan Raby. Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Ben Owens, Gary Gann, Tony Gann, Jim Hesse, J.A. Wampler, Rusty McClain, Wayne Loggains, James Vest, Kevin Miller, and Junior Wallace. Funeral service will be Friday, March 16, 2018 at Jackson’s Harrisburg Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will be Thursday from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Interment will be in Bolivar Cemetery in Harrisburg.
