Obituary for Wilma Turner
Mrs. Wilma Ivon (Waddill) Turner, of Springfield, Missouri, formerly of Newport, Arkansas, departed this life on Monday, July 24, 2017 at the age of 84. She was born January 3, 1934 in Newport, the daughter of Fred and Mabel (Vance) Waddill.
Mrs. Turner worked as bookkeeper and secretary for Arkansas Power and Light over 25 years, and was secretary for Holden Avenue Church of Christ five years. She was an avid reader and quilt maker, who loved to visit with her friends and family. Mrs. Turner also enjoyed singing, playing the piano, and researching family genealogy. She loved going to church and the fellowship of her church family, but truly loved time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Turner was preceded in death by her husband, Fergus Turner; one son, Steve Turner; and her parents.
She is survived by one son, Danny Turner of Hot Springs; one daughter, Mona Turner McFall and husband, Don, of Springfield, Missouri; one sister, Carole Allen and husband, Finis, of Oil Trough; seven grandchildren, Jennifer Key and husband, David, Brent Turner, Summer McFall and husband, Dan, Anita Lynn Wheetly and husband, Scott, Wynter Hurd and husband, Ronnie, Jillian Turner, and Lucas Turner; four great-grandchildren, Stephanie Turner-Jones, Tristan Whitfield, Colin McFall, and Jordan McFall; and a host of church friends that will all miss her dearly.
Friends may visit at the funeral home, Friday, 12:30 until 1:30 p.m. Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday at Walnut Grove Cemetery.
