Obituary for Lila Sitzer

Lila Lee Sitzer, 84 of Weiner, Arkansas passed from this life on July 23, 2017 at her home surrounded by family. She was born to George and Mary Belle (Mead) Lynn on December 31, 1932, in Weiner, Arkansas.
Lila graduated from Weiner High School in 1950. She was on the annual staff and served as editor in 1950. She played on the basketball team for four years. She was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church for 65 years, and served on the altar society at one time. She was a homemaker and loved watching her westerns, crocheting and cross stitching. She loved spending time with family and especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Lila was preceded in death by her parents, George and Mary Belle (Mead) Lynn; her husband of twenty five years, Ralph Sitzer,; one son, Billy Sitzer and his wife, Sandra (KK); one grandson, Barrett John Sitzer; two brothers, Clint Lynn and Jimmy Lynn.
Survivors include, daughter, Deborah (Debbie) Sitzer of Weiner; son, Tommy and wife, Linda Sitzer, of Jonesboro; grandchildren, Byron Sitzer Sr. of Weiner, Amanda Yearta and husband, Philip, of Bono, Carrie Schwarz and husband, Paul, of Jonesboro; great grandchildren, Byron Joseph Sitzer, Jr. of Weiner, Wade Yearta and Cannon Yearta of Bono, Amelia and Briar Sitzer of Jonesboro, and Addison and Avery Schwarz of Jonesboro; honorary great grandchildren, Lance Cooper of Jonesboro, Maggie Hogue of Weiner; and a host of family and friends.
A special thanks to her caregivers, her hospice nurse, Patty Melton and PCT Rhonda Herley for their service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any remembrances be made to the Weiner Fire Department, 101 N. Washington, Weiner, AR 72479 or Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House, 1148 East Matthews Avenue, Jonesboro, AR 72401.
Friends may visit at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church Wednesday 9:30 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. Funeral mass will begin at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in the St. Anthony’s Catholic Cemetery in Weiner.
