Mrs. Gwendolyn (Anschultz) Clark, of Weiner, Arkansas, departed this life on Friday, April 12, 2019. She was born January 30, 1930 at Tuckerman, Arkansas, the daughter of Homer Gwin and Bertha Emaline (Ward) Anschultz.
On June 30, 1947, Miss Gwendolyn Anschultz was wed to Mr. Acel Floyd Clark, Sr., and together they spent 64 years, and raised six children.
Mrs. Clark was a homemaker, and of the Christian faith. She enjoyed collecting Depression Glass, owning over 5,000 pieces. Mr. and Mrs. Clark especially enjoyed traveling with their children during their youth. Together the family traveled to Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, Mexico, and all over the state of Arkansas. Mrs. Clark enjoyed talking and taking care of the family history, telling about the family times together and making sure everyone had family videos, which she made from VHS tapes, and transferred to CD’s.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Acel Floyd Clark, Sr., on September 30, 2011; one son, Acel Floyd Clark, Jr., on November 2, 1991; two daughters, Sandra Sitzer on September 4, 2012, and Joyce Ann Clark on January 17, 2017; four brothers; LeRoy Anschultz, Dave Anschultz, Randall Anschultz and Homer Don Anschultz; one son-in-law, Billy Jerome Sitzer on July 13, 2012; three grandchildren, Mindy Lee Walker on August 27, 1992, Barrett John Sitzer on December 6, 2004, and Asa Jackson Walker on February 11, 2014.
Mrs. Clark is survived by one son, Stephen “Boo” Clark of Weiner, Arkansas; two daughters, Patricia Nelson of Searcy, Arkansas and Winnie Walker of Quitman, Arkansas; three brothers, Sammy Joe Anschultz of Weiner, Arkansas, Jackie Ray Anschultz of Fisher, Arkansas, Thomas Earl Anschultz of Bay, Arkansas; one sister, Nancy Kemp of Harrisburg, Arkansas; four grandchildren, Megan Brown, Byron Sitzer, Ken Ramsey, and Lynn Baxter; and seven great-grandchildren, Joseph Sitzer, Clayton Baxter, Shelby Baxter, Madden Taylor Brown, Briar Sitzer, Amelia Sitzer, and Lance Cooper.
Friends may visit at the funeral home Monday 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services are Tuesday, 10:00 a.m. at Jackson’s Newport Funeral Home Chapel, with interment in Clark Family Cemetery.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Lewis Hogue, Gary Easter, Mike Anschultz, “Bim” Anschultz, Tony Sullins, Dean Guthrie and Kevin Armstrong. Honorary pallbearers are J.E. “Short” Garner, Mike Gillis, Curt Guthrie, Robert Guthrie, Stuart Cooper, Ann Wixson, Katie Keller, Lana Zirbel, Joy Zirbel, Avis Bradley, Betty Brown, Paulette Norris, Patricia Stanley, Connie Hewitt, Jan Jackson Maris and her nieces and nephews.
